malmö
A distinct design with wood, clean lines and an emphasis on detail and function. The Malmö collection from Michal Riabič has been inspired by Scandinavian minimalism. The smooth lines require high-quality wood with perfect refining, which can be achieved by selecting the best plywood available. The design of the chair and table blends an atypical element of diagonally positioned legs, which for non-upholstered chairs also pass through the seat and thus create an interesting contrast detail.
The seat section of uniform plywood is broken by the unconventional connections between the legs. The legs pass through the seat emphasizing the structural construction which is also a design detail. The effect is outstanding in the two-color version.

We manually bend our furniture in the same workshops where this technology has been in use since 1861. However, we moved the features of this unique technique further more and mix them with contemporary designers’ thoughts. Our tables and chairs become a connection of quality, innovative shapes and a legacy to the place that has learned to understand the wood for generations.
