The Red Dot award committee swayed by Logs coat hangers from TON

TON officially introduced the Logs coat hanger at this year’s IMM Cologne. In less than two months, the coat hanger has won one of the most prestigious design prizes – the Red Dot Award for 2020. Designed by Romin Heide and Hanna Litwin from the young design studio Büro Famos, the coat hanger probably charmed the committee with its simple and playful design, which allows hangers to be combined in larger groupings, and by the designers’ approach to sustainability. Shaped like a star, the coat hanger is created from beech and oak wood offcuts that can no longer be used to make chairs. What’s more, the product ships in boxes made from recycled cardboard and is packed in a workshop employing people with disabilities.
