TON’s Merano Chair and Barstool were awarded the iF Design 2015 Award

The design of the extended Merano series captured the attention of the jury of the German iF Design worldwide competition. The chair and the barstool, by the designer Alex Gufler, were chosen for an award in the Home Furniture category.

The number of competitors was very high this year. The international jury judged more than 5,000 items - from 53 countries. “Since we introduced these new models at last year’s Salone del Mobile Fair; we felt, based on the interest of our business partners, that it would be a favourite model. We are pleased that our expectations were fulfilled and the high quality of the product was sealed by the iF Design Award too,” said Jan Juza, TON’s Marketing Director.

”The award is especially attractive for the fact that it represents the design and economy spheres. Not only interesting concepts are chosen – but so are the best things for everyday use – where chairs undoubtedly belong,” added Juza.

The Merano Chair and Barstool - previously awarded the title: German Design Award 2015 Special Mention; are, due to their modest shapes, a perfect supplement not only for different types of private or commercial interiors, but also make a set with the Merano Armchair. The TON Company introduced it in 2010 and has gained several international awards - among them the Red Dot Design or Good Design Awards.
