The Prag chair and barstools were inspired by the atmosphere of a traditional Prague pub – a place characterised by its simplicity and the use of wooden furniture, which lends the pub its cosy feel and provides for a range of functional needs and comforts. The design features a traditional U-shaped seat, solid wood legs, and a curved backrest. The barstool is available in two heights, with or without a backrest, and the entire collection can be finished in a broad range of colours. Durability is guaranteed with strength and quality tests that apply a load of 130 kg over 160,000 cycles to simulate the real-life experience of a chair and barstool in a typical pub setting.

René Šulc

At the start of his work, he focused on light fixtures, co-operating with Lucis. Besides lighting, René Šulc has worked with furniture – his Chaise-longue sofa, for instance, was nominated for the project Czech 100 – A Hundred Icons of Czech Design. In 2006, René Šulc set up his own studio Inveno which follows up and develops his experience with industrial design.

We manually bend our furniture in the same workshops where this technology has been in use since 1861. However, we moved the features of this unique technique further more and mix them with contemporary designers’ thoughts. Our tables and chairs become a connection of quality, innovative shapes and a legacy to the place that has learned to understand the wood for generations.
