Designer Arik Levy, who is renowned worldwide, has advanced the possibilities with the Split collection with a tradition of bending wood. For this design, a unique rod cleft has been used, during which the wood is bent in two different directions. This is one of the most complicated designs that can be found in bent furniture.
Artist, designer, photographer and film-maker, was born in Tel-Aviv in 1963. Nowadays, he works in his own studio in Paris. He moved to Europe in 1988 and graduated three years later with honours in the field of Industrial Design at Art Centre Europe, in Switzerland. After his work stay in Japan, where he focused on products and objects for exhibitions, Levy came back to Europe and focused on contemporary dance and opera stage design.
