Lucie Koldová is a Czech designer who has received international recognition
for her work, which borders between furniture and lighting. She studied at the
Academy of Arts and Crafts in Prague and gained her experience in Paris, where
she worked for the famous Arik Levy design studio. Her work is characterised by
a combination of modern materials, playful shapes and emotional design. For Ton
she designed the iconic Chips lounge armchair, which combines traditional wood
bending techniques with an innovative approach to ergonomics and aesthetics.
Another product from this collection is the Chips Tabouret, which has become the
ideal companion to the lounge armchair thanks to its minimalist design and
comfort. Both products have won numerous awards and have become a symbol of the
combination of tradition and innovation.
The Chips armchair won the German Design Award 2019 in the Excellent Product
Design – Furniture category.
In 2018, it was awarded the Designblok Editors’ Prize as the best new
furniture at the Designblok show in Prague.
This model was awarded Best of Year as the winner of the Residential Seating
category: Lounge.
In 2018, it won the Good Design Award.
In 2019, it won the Red Dot Design Award as the winner in the Product Design
category.
